| Located in the Jilin Province, the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences was founded in 1913 as a government body. The National Center of Transgenic Plant Research and Commercialization is one of the few officially appointed laboratories for GMO testing by Ministry of Agriculture in China.
Hai Kang Life established a joint laboratory with the National Center of Transgenic Plant Research and Commercialization (NCTPRC), an officially appointed laboratory for genetically modified organism (GMO) testing by the Ministry of Agriculture in China, and the Academy of Agricultural Science of Jilin Province in China. |

| Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong SAR (AFCD) |

Hai Kang Life and the AFCD collaborated to evaluate the molecular testing system that is able to detect avian influenza virus subtype H5, which caused outbreaks in Hong Kong in 1997, 2001 and 2002. The kit represents a major improvement over the existing serological detection methods - as it is far more accurate and has the ability to detect the most recent isolates of the virus. |

Applied Biosystems is a leader in life sciences technology and provides approximately 180,000 instrument systems in nearly 100 countries, focusing on basic and commercial research and standardized testing. Hai Kang Life has joint marketing activities with ABI on the technology transfer program on molecular and food testing, which aim at providing technical trainings and laboratory setup consultations to start-up private molecular testing laboratories. |

BioMerieux, with headquarters in France, specializes in the field of in vitro infectious disease diagnostics, manufacturing and marketing of reagents and automated instruments for medical analyses. The company currently employs more than 5,000 people throughout the world and is the eighth largest biological diagnostics company worldwide.
Hai Kang Life is developing products based on the BioMerieux RNA amplification technology that can be pushed further commercially in Greater China [China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan] and eventually internationally. Newly developed products are marketed under the Hai Kang Life brand name. |

| Hai Kang Life has a long and rewarding relationship with HKUST. Staff at the university were contracted to perform R&D in the development of the H5 Avian Influenza Virus Detection System. We have also successfully obtained a grant from Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR to further develop diagnostic test kits for avian influenza viruses H6, H7 and H9 (grant no. UIM-44). |
