Hai Kang Life Corporation Limited, pioneering researcher and developer of biotechnology applications and systems in addressing safety and quality assurance for industries and global health has been awarded extension of ISO 17025 accreditation from Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS). The scope of Hai Kang Life’s laboratory accreditation (HOKLAS registration number 136) has now been expanded to include certification in Microbiology analyses and testing in the food category.

“This achievement marks a valuable addition to the accomplishments of Hai Kang Life in delivering advanced molecular testing analysis for the food industry at the regional and international levels,” comments Dr Terence Lau, Chief Operating Officer.

The capability of Hai Kang Life to combine both conventional microbiological techniques and innovative new technologies provides a unique and wide selection of system solutions for food safety and quality testing. Hai Kang Life became the first commercial laboratory in China-Hong Kong accredited with ISO 17025 for genetically modified food molecular testing and analytics using real-time PCR technology. The Company was also the first commercial service laboratory to apply molecular technology in pathogen detection of food viruses and bacteria, and has since grown to become one of Asia-Pacific’s prime food and product safety testing reference center, fueled by the Company’s owned subsidiary, The Food Safety Laboratories Limited (TFSL).
